Frequently Asked Questions
What if it doesn't work for me?
It depends on how you define this.
At the end, you will know yourself far better, identify your top skills, interests and values, have target priorities and be poised to take action to move out of firm life.
Would you consider that working for you?
Again… if you do all the work and put in a truly good faith effort, but don’t feel you’ve gotten value, just send me your materials within 14 days of enrolling and I’d be happy to refund your money.
I suspect this question may be coming from your inner skeptic. In WILL, you will learn to know this voice and manage it.
Fear of failure is totally normal, but ask yourself, what is scarier…taking steps to leave, or staying?
Can I keep my identity a secret?
I know this is important for some members.
You can be anonymous if you want during this course. You can join our Zoom Community Calls by dialing in or keep your video off.
Of course, that is your choice. I hope you will share who you are and your stories with the other members.
Building relationships and connections with other members is a huge benefit. The Community Calls ARE A FAVORITE component for many WILL members.
I really don't know if I have the time. What if I fall behind?
There is no ahead and no behind. You will move through the course at your own pace.
One of the first tools I share is a Harvard Business Review article on managing your time AND energy.
All the Community Calls will be recorded. If you can’t make it, you can listen to the recordings.
That said, your time in the community is limited. You may want to leverage the momentum of the group to inspire your effort.
I am a 1st or 2nd year attorney. Is this for me?
Great question! Glad you are here and looking at this.
1st year associates have done WILL and made changes to their lives that align with their true interests and values. Using WILL to evaluate that has been helpful for them.
You can use WILL and your time in big law acquire skills and experiences and assess where you want your life and career to go. WILL can help you use your time in (big) law strategically.
What if I may want to stay in big law?
You may choose to stay! I actively support attorneys to meet THEIR honest and intentional objectives.
Some benefits of doing WILL (among many!):
You will stand in certainty of what you DO want. You will be CHOOSING whether to stay or leave, not doing it by default, or the limiting belief that you can't do anything else.
When does the course start?
The course starts as soon as you enroll! You will receive access to the Welcome & Foundations module and can begin immediately. You will schedule your first coaching session once inside the course. Typically, we have our first 1:1 coaching session after you complete your StrengthsFinder assessment, in Module 1.
Depending on which program you choose, you have a different amount of time in the community. WILL Step-by-Step now comes with 4 months in the community. Many women start with this and extend if they want more time.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like. The materials and resources are ones you will come back to again and again as they help you not only improve your career, but your life.
